Behind the Dragons
My name is Margaux, and for as long as I can remember, I've always been fascinated by creatures that don't exist.
When I was a child, I wasn’t really interested in Barbie dolls. While others played princess, I collected books about dinosaurs, drew imaginary creatures, and spent hours dreaming of forgotten worlds populated by monsters, dragons, and giants.
This fascination with ancient creatures has never left me. Dinosaurs were my first passion, and dragons became its natural extension.
My first real encounter with fantasy came through Harry Potter and Narnia. For the first time, I discovered a universe where you could step through a simple closet to reach another world. That sense of wonder has never left me and continues to influence each of my creations to this day.
My world isn't limited to fantasy.
I have always been passionate about science, astronomy, and astrophysics. I love observing the sky, understanding how the universe works, and losing myself in questions to which no one has yet found an answer.
This curiosity has also led me to theology and the study of religions—not through faith, but through history, philosophy, and an understanding of the narratives that have shaped human civilizations. Myths, beliefs, and legends fascinate me just as much as the stars.
Gothic culture also plays an important role in my identity. In it, I find a love for romantic aesthetics, cathedrals, ancient symbols, vampire stories, nocturnal creatures, and worlds where beauty often emerges from darkness.
What was supposed to be just a casual read turned into a full-blown obsession
For a long time, I mainly explored these worlds through movies, TV shows, and video games. Then one day, I stumbled upon the world of *Fourth Wing*.
What was supposed to be just a casual read turned into a full-blown obsession. Like many readers, I discovered Rebecca Yarros’s dragons, as well as characters who have become unforgettable. Xaden Riorson quickly became one of my favorite characters, to the point where he helped me rediscover the joy of reading.
Since then, books have taken on an increasingly important role in my life. I devour fantasy novels, spend hours coming up with theories, analyzing characters, and eagerly awaiting the next installments of my favorite series.
This newfound passion for reading has also inspired a new aspect of my work: creating fantasy bookmarks for readers who, like me, love to escape into worlds filled with dragons, magic, and unforgettable heroes.
The Lair of the Bronze Dragon
Today, I bring these worlds to life through *L'Antre du Dragon d'Airain*.
Each creation starts with an idea, a character, or a dragon that has left a lasting impression on me. Kamil or Samuel models the future figurine before we 3D-print it in resin in my workshop.
I worked as a floor manager for a boss for years, and since the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve turned my life around, started my own business, and taught myself Instagram marketing. Marketing and mastering social media are THE most important factors for selling your creations. Today, I continue to learn—on TikTok, Pinterest, email marketing, and even organic SEO on Google! And my work is paying off.
These skills blend with my creativity to bring to life dragons, fantastical creatures, bookmarks, and objects inspired by the worlds I love.
My goal isn’t simply to make figurines. I seek to create pieces that inspire dreams, tell a story, and transport their owners to the fantastical worlds that have fascinated me since childhood.
