Dreamfyre Figurine – Helaena Targaryen’s Dragon | Hand-Painted Resin Statue
Step into the world of House of the Dragon with this majestic figurine of Dreamfyre, one of the oldest female dragons still alive at the time of the Dance of the Dragons and the mount of Queen Helaena Targaryen. Long before she bonded with Helaena, Dreamfyre had been ridden by Rhaena Targaryen, granddaughter of Aegon the Conqueror. Her history thus spans several generations of the Targaryen dynasty, making her a true witness to the golden age of dragons in Westeros.
This dragon figurine depicts Dreamfyre in a spectacular pose, with her wings spread wide, her mouth open, and her body rising above an imposing architectural base inspired by the Valyrian world. Her slender silhouette contrasts with that of more massive dragons like Vhagar or Vermithor: Dreamfyre possesses an elegant and ethereal appearance, immediately recognizable thanks to her bluish hues and silvery details. In George R. R. Martin’s writings, she is described as a slender dragon, primarily pale blue with silvery markings and crests
The model particularly highlights this visual identity. Various shades of blue, purple, and indigo run along her body, while the membranes of her immense wings take on deeper tones. The sculpture’s numerous raised features—scales, horns, claws, wing folds, and facial crests—allow the paint to reveal a multitude of nuances depending on the lighting. The result gives Dreamfyre a presence that is at once mysterious, noble, and imposing.
But Dreamfyre stands out for more than just her appearance. Her history is intimately linked to that of House Targaryen. Born during the reign of Aegon I Targaryen, she became attached to Princess Rhaena Targaryen at a very young age. Rhaena became her first rider and traveled with her across much of Westeros. Dreamfyre also laid several clutches of eggs during her lifetime, thereby playing a direct role in the continuation of the Targaryen dragon line.
Several decades later, Dreamfyre bonded with Helaena Targaryen, daughter of King Viserys I and Alicent Hightower. Helaena was already riding Dreamfyre at the age of eleven and shared a particularly strong bond with her. During the Dance of the Dragons, Helaena sided with the Greens, but the tragic events that befell her family gradually drove her apart from her dragon.
Dreamfyre’s fate is, in fact, one of the most tragic episodes in the history of the Targaryen dragons. During the storming of the Dragonpit, she managed to break her chains and took flight inside the immense structure. She killed more attackers than the other three dragons present combined before crashing into the pit’s great dome. Part of the structure then collapsed onto her and the crowd, bringing an end to the life of one of Westeros’s oldest female dragons.
This extraordinary story lends a special significance to the sculpture. Dreamfyre is not simply one of the dragons from House of the Dragon: she represents several generations of Targaryen history, from the early decades following the Conquest to the civil war that would hasten the decline of the dragons.
Each figurine is printed in high-definition resin, preserving the delicacy of the model’s numerous details. The textured membranes of the wings, the tiny scales, the horns framing her face, the claws, and the contours of her body are reproduced with precision. After printing, each piece is carefully prepared, assembled, and then entirely hand-painted, making every Dreamfyre a unique piece with its own nuances and subtleties.
Its imposing wingspan is, of course, one of the sculpture’s central features. The outstretched wings give the figurine a particularly spectacular silhouette and create a genuine sense of movement. Depending on the angle from which it is viewed, Dreamfyre seems at times ready to take flight, and at other times on the verge of letting out a roar from the heights of its perch.
The architectural base enhances this presentation by evoking the grand structures of the Targaryen universe. Its monumental forms elevate the dragon while naturally drawing the eye to its silhouette. The luminous details, in turn, provide additional contrast to Dreamfyre’s cool hues and accentuate its almost supernatural character.
This Dreamfyre figurine will naturally find its place in a display case, a fantasy bookshelf, a desk, or a collection dedicated to the world of House of the Dragon. Displayed on its own, it serves as a true centerpiece thanks to its impressive size. Alongside Vhagar, Caraxes, Syrax, Meleys, Sunfyre, Vermithor, and Vermax, it also allows you to gradually build a collection of the dragons that shaped the history of House Targaryen.
Would you like your own dragon figurine? I invite you to fill out the quote form (free and with no commitment).
